Dear Al White, Linda Ray, Tricia Hopper, and the Cook-web, I was reviewing some bible records: Green Cook, born Dec. 14th 1748 (Married Rhoda Harker). http://members.aol.com/CookCooke/cookbiblerecords.html Green Cook is a pretty unique name and Raleigh Hiram (or Horton) Cook b. 1818 (David Cooks son) had a brother named Green Cook. Since almost all large families had grandchildren that carried their grandfather's names back then, the Dec. 14, 1748 birthday would fit to be David Cook's (b. 1782)father (David was born ~34 years after the Green Cook in this bible record). Green Cook had a son born in 1782 named Silas Cook. Is it possible that they had three names and did not include the full name in the bible? The grandfather that would be David's ws also named Silas, which would be the bible-name used. A Silas David Cook would put things together and give us two to three more Cook generations, to Sept 21, 1725 When Joseph Cook was born (about 2/3 of the way from Plymouth Rock to the Declaration of independence)and his suspected father. Joseph Cook's father is probably Silas Cook of Sherewsbury mentioned also. That would take it back to his birth probably at the end of the 1600's. Together, we should all be able to research these and see if it is the right way. Al, I know you said you had something on another David Cook child. Does anyone have anything that fits here? John Davis (Juanita Cook's son - she lives in Weatherford, Texas) [email protected] Colorado Springs ----------------------------- Cook Records The following two records of the Cook family are taken from a manuscript book formerly belonging to Sarah Earl, and now in the possession of Mrs. Earl Reigner. They were evidently copied from a family Bible the location of which is at present unknown. Joseph Cook, born Sept. 21th 1725.
