Hello, I read your posting with interest. We are researching our ancestor, Daniel Cook, who came from England to America. We do not know the name of the wife of this Daniel Cook. Daniel Cook, who came from England, had a son, Abram Cook, born in Maryland, who married Feebe (Phoebe) Mastin of Virginia. Abram and Feebe had a son, Daniel who married Ruth Moultrie. Daniel fought in the Revolutionary War. This Daniel Cook had a son Daniel Cook (1795-1878) who married Martha Warren Norwood, (1799-1840) dau. of Capt. John and Mary Dubose Norwood. Daniel and Martha married in Darlington Dist., SC and came to Alabama (Possum Bend near Camden in Wilcox County) where they built beautiful Cook Hill, a South Carolinian style two-story house, which continues to stand, is owned and occupied by Cook descendants, and is on tour from time to time. Nearby is the Cook Family Cemetery where Daniel and Martha Cook, as well as many other Cook descendants are buried. Of course, since these are my ancestors, I am very interested in any info that you may be able to provide on Cook. I realize that there were several Daniel Cooks who came to America from England. Therefore, I am attempting to learn more about each, in hopes that I may find "our" Daniel. Perhaps he is this Daniel Cook.
