I have found the following information: THOMAS COOK: born 19 May 1748 in P{itt County, NC died 23 Nov 1831 in Spring Creek, Madison County, NC buried Nov 1831 in Spring Creek married Elizabeth Bowen on 20 Oct 1771 in Pitt County, NC born 14 Sep 1753 in Pitt County, NC died 11 Feb 1837 in Madison County, NC daughter of John Bowen born ~ 1720 in NC married Martha ______ born ~ 1731 in Pitt County, NC Thomas Cook was the son of John Cook born 1714 in VA died 1799 Duplin County, NC married Mary ______ before 1748 Should you desire more information about John Cook's ancestors, please let me know and I'll continue to search for you.     3. Im and looking for info on Thomas Cook born 1803 married Elizabeth born 1792 in South Carolina. They had a son John born 1832 who married a Rutha. All moved to Millport Alabama.     3. After years of searching - I found Jefferson Davis Cook (1861- 1916 Ballard County, KY) in 1900 and 1910. Turns out dear old Grandpa was in the Western Asylum for the Insane in Christian County, KY. In 1900 he is listed as Dave and 1910 as Jef. I'm still trying to figure out why he was there and who his parents were. Pat

    3. I have a ggGrandfather that was also in the state asylum...but they did not have a hospital nearer to take care of TB patients..he died there..     3. Pat can you tell me more about your cook family? My cook family lived in logan county Kentucky from about 1797 to 1812 and there were other relatives who lived in Christian county Kentucky.
