Hi K. Powell - Thanks very much for your input to my David Cook, but yes I knew about the other Cook's in Ulster Co., NY. I have not been able to connect to any of them. The reason I have Seely's birthplace as being Orange Co., NY is because his Ohio death certificate shows Orange as his birthplace. To answer your question about the Susannah Cook found in Congress Twp., Morrow Co., Ohio on the 1850 census, printed page 461. She is the mother of John Bartlett Cook, her husband David has deceased. The wife of John is Susan Schanck and I find all three of them living in the same household on page 461. You have confused me a little when you say that Susannah is two pages over from whoever you meant two pages back. Who was that person? It is hard to read but I read Susannah's birth state as being NY. You may be right in saying it looked like NJ. I was consulting Ancestry's online census listings for my information. If you should find that any of this makes you think you might be related to that family I have more to share. Regards, Ben
Ben, Would you have parents for your David Cook of Orange Co. NY born 1790 ? Ann Brown On 10/13/06, B.A. Whitney <jetjock1@adelphia.net> wrote: > > Hi K. Hi Ann - No, I haven't a clue as to David's parents as they are my Cook stonewalls.
Thanks for your response, I have a John born in ? but is listed in the Morris County Biography book as one of the earliest residents of Parsippany area in that county. He was born in about 1736 and he names his 1st son David. The name is not that common and I just had a feeling that perhaps there may be a connection in the earlier generations. I just hate it when these people "hatch" out of nowhere!
