    3. All these Cook messages but none from UK. I am seeking anyone who may have had Cook ancestors from Hampshire England, namely around the Basingstoke area.I have found a few ancestors through Genes Reunited but am trying to find out if any Cooks from the area mentioned emigrated to USA. Genes Reunited has over 80 million names mostly from Uk with many Cooks listed. My Grandfather Ernest Daniel Cook emigrated to Perth Western Australia in 1912. 3. Thanks for your help, This is my James 1850 Cherry Valley, Otsego, New York; Roll: M432_579; Page: 39; Image: 81 COOK James A 16 NY household of Martha Marks 60 What I've figured is that father had passed away by the 1850 census which is why James is living with Martha Marks as a farm help. Actually what I believe is the father passed away after 1841, mainly because of Hiram Cook Fish. Here's what I think James dad died around 1841-1842 before his last child was born. Hiram is born, Mom remarries a Mr. FISH and since Hiram is so young just tacks FISH on as his last name. However I don't think Mr. Fish lives very long either since I've never found a census record with the family on it. I've looked at the girl Elizabeth 1850 Cherry Valley, Otsego, New York; Roll: M432_579; Page: 22; Image: 47 COOK Elizabeth 16 NY household of H J Olcott As far as possibly being James sister? Never found any proof. Interesting I don't remember seeing the Susan 13, Joseph 11, record. All the information I have on Hiram is what is on his and James headstone FISH, Hiram E. , Born 1842 , Died 1886 I've been in touch with the Historian of Cherry Valley and there was nothing there. Also contacted the historian for Otsego Co again no luck. I've been researching James for over 10 years now and still no closer to finding his parents or siblings. I've taken up enough of your time, I appreciate you looking my info up it was very nice of you. 3. It was good getting back from two weeks holiday and being inundated with activity from the List, but where are all the COOK families that stayed in the UK, although in this hobby we can never be sure where theystayed. The main stem of my Cooks seems to be Isaac Cook Born. 1766 in Moorsholm, North Yorkshire who married Elizabeth Lowe in 1788 at Skelton in North Yorkshire and they had 10 children. Isaac was the son of Thomas Cook and Mary Robinson. Regards, John Emmerson. Camberley, Surrey UK

    2. mgpage@unlimited.net Do you have any info on a Daniel Cook, SC, or his family? Daniel Cook (1795-1878) was in the War of 1812. He and his wife, Martha Norwood Cook, (1799-1840) came to the Camden area of Wilcox County, AL where they built beautful Cook Hill which continues to stand and be occupied by Cooks (sometimes on tour, too.) Nearby is the well-kept (perpetual care) cemetery in which Daniel and Martha, as well as many descendants are buried. Daniel's parents are supposed to have been Daniel and Ruth Moultrie Cook of SC. an Abram (Abraham Cook) born in the Maryland area. This Daniel fought in the Revolution under the command of Gen. Francis Marion. The father of this DANIEL WHO FOUGHT IN THE REVOLUTION was Abram Cook who married (Feebe) Phoebe Mastin of Virginia. Abram (Abraham) Cook was born in Maryland. The father of Abram Cook who married The father of Abram Cook who married ( Feebe) Mastin was another Daniel Cook who was born in England. Are you able to help me with this? Also, you seem good in posting. I have not learned to "post". Would you please get this onto the bulletin board, posted, or whatever might help me to get these facts relayed in hopes that others might be able to enlighten me on these Cooks. I will appreciate. It is believed that the Daniel who came to AL may have had a brother, John, and POSSIBLY a brother, James. Any help will be appreciated. Robbie Cook Purser RobbiePurser@aol.com

    3. Robert, Henry and William are common names in my line - All have been named Henry or,William Henry with John appearing as well once.George is the oddity it appears but, does appear to be my ggg grandfather based upon my research to date.I only know he was originally from North Carolina(region unknown)and his father`s name was Henry. My gg grandfather was named Henry;my g grandfather was William Henry and my grandfather was William Henry. My gg grandfather,Henry Cook had a farm in Lewisberg,Tennessee and was married to Mary Ann(maiden name unknown)and had 10 children total. I have established this much through census records and county land records. They left in 1870 and settled in Brown County Texas as shown in the 1880 census.I can`t get past 1765 North Carolina when George`s father Henry was supposedly born.I do believe that my line is all southern unless I missed something and,I haven`t the slightest notion as to whether or not my line is German or English but,I am leaning towards the English for some reason. Does it have any connection with Orange County, NC? Were they Evangelical Lutherans in the late 1700s and early 1800s? Are the names Catherine, Christina, John and Henry common in your line? Are there any connections with the Shofner or Helton (Hilton) families in that time frame? I've got a lot of questions but very few answers.
