    3. I should have given a time period and state---sorry. Caleb and his brothers (as well as his father) were in Fayette County and Campbell County GA. Caleb fought in and died in the CW. I am not familiar with an Abraham or Daniel Cook, sorry. Michelle I am working on Daniel Cook. One of the Daniel Cooks had a brother, Isaac. However, I am not CERTAIN that the Isaac Cook that I mentioned is our ancestor. Do you find a Daniel Cook or Abram (Abraham) Cook in your research on this? I have not found Dodsons. 3. Caleb Cook, son of Harbard died during the CW and I found a record where after his death, his property is being appraised. Three men appraise it for his wife, Martha (McCluskey) Cook and indicate that it is sufficient for her to live on for the next 12 months. The names of the men that take care of that are interesting----It is Isaac Cook, H.C. Dodson and C.M. Dodson. Now I'm trying to figure out why??? Interesting that Caleb's son isn't involved---John H.! or some of his brothers????? Is anyone aware of a relationship between these Cooks and the Dodson family? thanks, Michelle

    3. Hello, Terry, We have corresponded before about your ancestor and mine, James Cook, who lived in Hardin County, Illinois, where Kisiah later lived. I still think there is a good chance that we are related. Through DNA, I have found the family that my James Cook belonged to (although I still cannot prove which one was his father). I urge you to participate in the Cook DNA project at familytreedna.com. It may be the only way that we will ever find out for sure whether John Clausen Cook belonged to the same family as James and Frederick Cook (another early Hardin Co. resident related to me). 2. In a message dated 10/14/2006 11:55:20 AM Eastern Standard Time, drjimcook@sbcglobal.net writes: Hi Sandi- I believe, although I have yet to prove, that this is part of my COOK line. My ggg-grandparents are James Cook and Mary Angel, who were married in 1831 in Gallia Co. OH. James Cook has been my COOK brick wall for many years. Over the last couple years, though, I've found that the ANGEL (or ANGELL) families of Gallia OH were sons of the Rev John Angell from the Stokes/Surry area of NC and that they were intermarried with a COOK family. Your COOKs below are said to be part of that line as well. I don't have any primary information for this yet, just people's trees posted here and there. The father of Ann and Elizabeth is typically listed as a Henry COOK (b. 1740 in MD of PA) who married Elizabeth Angell, the brother of the Rev John Angell. Although I've rarely found anyone with a complete tree for this family, they seem to have had several possible children including: Ann Cook m. William Knight Elizabeth Cook m. William Garlick George Cook m. Nancy Benefield Juda Cook m. Berry Angell Cornelius Cook m ? A lot of this is based on speculation - and like I say, you should probably take it with a grain of salt, I've had a real hard time trying to find primary records for this family. But I think that my James Cook may be the son of Cornelius Cook. The Henry Cook who married Elizabeth Angel is said to be descended from a Neal (Cornelius) Cook who was born abt 1657 in England or Ireland and died in Chester Co., PA in 1738. I have participated in the COOK DNA project without any close COOK matches so far. If anyone out there is a known direct COOK descendant of this Neal COOK line, please get in touch with me. I'd love it if we could compare results in the DNA project.
