Good morning to the COOK list members, I have a SAMUEL COOK conflict which I hope someone on the list can straighten out. I show SAMUEL COOK born September 30, 1641, in New Haven, CT, and died March 1702/03, in Wallingford, CT, son of HENRY and JUDITH (BIRDSALL) COOK. The conflict comes with SAMUEL's wife or wives. One source says he married HOPE PARKER May 02, 1667, in New Haven, and a second says he married MARY ROBERTS on the same date. The first source says SAMUEL married second MARY MALLORY July 14, 1690, and the second has no second marriage. With the conflict in wives, the children are also in conflict as to how many, and who was their mother. If anyone on the list has any information on SAMUEL's wives and children that they are willing to share, it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rick in Thailand

Dear Listers, After watching the news on TV and reading the article in the Toronto Sun Newspaper on Friday morning regarding the terrible injustice that has fallen upon the Middleton family, I asked and received permission to send this letter to all the lists I am on and ask that you forward it on to any lists that you are on. The family has put up a website about what took place in Bermuda, I will list the URL after this brief letter. 17 year old Rebecca Middleton was murdered in Bermuda and this past Dec. 15 one of her murderers was found not guilty. I don't personaly know the Middleton family but we as genealogists know that at one point in time through the scheme of things we will find that Rebecca was a cousin to all of us. I would like you to visit their website and send in your comments and write the Attorney General of Bermuda (email address is posted at the site) and make it known to the Attorney General's office that you agree with the Middleton family that an inquiry should be held in this horrible miscarrige of justice. We all know that at one point in time we have to bring closure to the death of a loved one, however, with this latest turn of events it will be a long time before the Middleton family will be able to do this. By writing the Attorney General of Bermuda we can at least help share the burden that has fallen upon the Middleton family. I spend hundreds of hours working on my site with the Historic Plaques, my genealogy and the Simcoe County Genweb page and The Canadian query boards in order to help you research your family tree, I only ask that you spend a few minutes of your time to visit this following URL. http://www.boycottbermuda.com/ Regards Wayne Cook http://www.waynecook.com and your host for the Simcoe County Genweb page at http://www.waynecook.com/simcoe.shtml Wasasga Beach, Ontario, Canada 1. Hello from Ontario Canada: I would like to take this time to wish all the subscribers a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the coming New Year. May you all receive your Christmas wish and find your missing links in 1999. This Christmas is special as it is our first with our daughter. She will be 5 months old on Christmas Eve. Her little eyes were almost popping out the other day when she met Santa and then also today when she saw the tree lights go on. Once again Merry Christmas from Ontario Canada. Hi Group, Hope everyone is having a great day. I am looking for information on my Cook/e ancestors. My gggrandfather Aaron Cook, had a brother named Henry, I believe he was born around 1945-1955 in Burke County North Carolina. There are no other records of him, but a remote clue from a family member, has led us to believe that he may have moved to Georgia. Is anyone here researching Cooks in Georgia, and maybe have a Henry Cook in their family file? His parents are Jesse Cook and Martha Aikens Cook, also from Cleveland and Burke County NC. Please email me at tps914@aol.com You can check out my Cook/e family heritage at Cooke Connections http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/4665/ Thanks! Can anyone help with George Cook and his mother Rebecca. Who was his father? George was in Georgia prior to the Revolution. He owned property in Screven Co. which he may have inherited on the death of his father, and which was in George's estate when he died in 1815 in an Indian uprising in Florida. His family probably were Loyalists who fled to Florida (St. Augustine area). I do not know when he was born so do not know what age he was during the Revolution. By 1783 George's mother, Rebecca, was married to William PENGREE and living on the St. Johns River, FL. Rebecca had one other child, Eliza (Isabel in the Spanish records of East Florida). Eliza (b. c. 1772) was also not the child of William Pengree. She may have been the child of an unknown 2nd husband of Rebecca. Eliza's surname is found in Spanish records as KEAN. She married John LESLIE of the house of Panton and Leslie (a brokerage???) in E. FL. Does anyone have any info on any of these families?
