    1. [COOK-L] COOK genealogy
    2. I am seeking information on the ancestors of William Moses Cook, Born 25 December 1863 in Iowa, died 26 February 1916 in Oklahoma. My records show his fathers name to be Bill Cook, killed while serving as a union soldier during the civil war. His mothers maiden name as Higgenbothem but not her given name. they had the following children: Alanzo, William Moses, Oleva and Dovie. His mother after the death of her first husband married another man named Cook that was not related to her first husband and had two more children: Marvin and Walter and then she died and her second husband remarried and this whole group migrated across Nebraska and Kansas as a family to take part in the land run for unassigned lands in Oklahoma April 22, 1889. I have found a record that there was a William W. Cook who was killed 2 January while serving with the 22nd Iowa infantry, but have been unable to prove that he was William Moses's father. I hope someone reconizes these people or the story and can help. mclanec@juno.com ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. 1. [COOK-L] Jefferson Davis Cook 1860 - 1916 TN & KY

    3. Area: Ballard Co, KY .. somewhere Tennessee Timeframe: 1860 - 1880 Due to terrible weather - I had to stay indoors today working on Cook web pages <smile> While going through my notes - I found a reference about Great Grandpa Jasper Marvin Cook's birth - he was born Nov. 13, 1893 to Jefferson Davis Cook & Mary E. Roach Cook. According to a book "Ballard Co, KY Births & Deaths .." Jefferson Davis Cook was born in Tennessee (either 1860 / 1861) and they lived in Tennessee even though g. gpa was born in Ballard County. I have been finding some references to Cook families from the Jackson Purchase area of KY - coming from Tennessee. In fact a number of the KY Cooks lived on the border of KY/TN. If anyone has a Tennesse census book with either a Jasper N. Cook or Jefferson Cook in it ca 1860-1880 - I'd be grateful for a look up. Newton is the name of my g.g.g'pa according to Jefferson Davis Cook's death cert. thanks in advance, Pat I'll be posting those new Cook web pages - tomorrow.
