To all of the List Members: I would like to state that I did NOT send the offensive message to the entire list. The person that I sent it to (CRAZYJCL@aol.com) forwarded it to the entire list., just as the same person has repeatedly forwarded another persons request to "Unsubscribe". I have been on COOK-L from its earliest days, and I would NEVER send such a message out in a general broadcast. But, I am being blamed for another persons actions. Have tried before but hope a new year brings better luck. I have a Bemjamin Cook in Washington Co in 1830 census. Cornelius Cook , Allen Cook and William Cook in 1840 and 1850 Washington Census with William stated as born in NC. Jefferson County has a Benjamin cook who marries Elizabeth Kelley Jan 8 1837. Also a James and John R. Cook who marry in Jefferson Co. Anybody researching any of these Cook's or these two counties? I have some marriages for Jefferson County if you have a tie there. Thanks Jeanette H JHender245@ao.com
List Administrator: HATCHER email list Site Administrator: HATCHER GenConnect Boards Webmaster: HATCHER Families of America at http://members.tripod.com/~GeneaNel/ Researching COOK, HALL, HATCHER, HOLTRY, MILLER, SHEPHERD, TIMBERMAN, ZIMMERMAN Let's have cooler heads prevail here. I have received 6 dup msgs from Diane M DiPaolo (unsubscribe). I have also received 6 dup msgs from CRAZYJCL noting that he received 6 dup msgs from Diane. This problem was happening on the OH list and these dups were locking up email for a multitude of members. I do not believe that either of the above people actually sent 6 dups, but that something else is going on here. Lynton - I hope you aren't that hot-headed all the time! Your outburst was uncalled for. This may be a problem with the COOk server and not the senders of the msgs. Nel

This letter is to thank all of you for your help in writing letters of support. The news today is that the Dutch Ministry of Justice has reversed its earlier decision and is granting premission to stay and for continuing research and the activities of the Leiden American Pilgrim Museum. A written statement to this effect was received today, with the information that the residency permit itself will arrive tomorrow. I feel that without the newspaper articles, especially those of Bill Kole for the Associated Press and Fox Butterfield for The New York Times, and the tremendous outpouring of supportive letters, this change could not have been achieved. Many, many people in America and in The Netherlands have indicated their concern and their hopes that the first decision could be overturned. Especially the comments of those of you who have visited th= e museum have made the effort seem well worthwhile, but, in addition, I have learned of the great positive feeling that exists throughout both countrie= s coming from people who have not yet had the chance to come see it for yourselves, but who feel strongly that the topic itself is worthy of serious attention and worthy of continued presentation in the museum. Again, my deep thanks to all of you. I hope that more of you can visit the museum and will be able to see that we will be moving forward in our attempts to provide exhibits and publications about the Pilgrims which bring this somewhat neglected aspect of our heritage to the attention of many. Sincerely, Jeremy Bangs Director, Leiden American Pilgrim Museum --part0_915589556_boundary--

I know some of you already know about this but I am directing it to the ones that don't. I received a very nicely done letter very authentic looking from Heirloom books, Halbert's, Bath, Ohio. Stating a new book is about to be published and S. Cook is in it. Funny the letter was signed by Gloria Cook. This is a HOAX do not fall for this offer. This book has little to no Genealogy but is being bought for that purpose. Please don't waste your money. Sancook@aol.com
