Some researchers have a Christopher Cook (or Christopher Koch), perhaps born in Germany, and perhaps died in Orange County, NC, in the late 1700s. His descendants supposedly moved to the Bedford County, TN area and the Russell County, KY area. Does anyone know of a single piece of believable documentation that such a person ever existed? Robert Nicholson (possible descendant of Christopher Cook, if he existed)
I'm trying to definitely establish the parents of Nathan Cook, b. abt 1765 Brunswick Co, VA; d. abt 1840, Hancock Co, GA. Our family tradition has him as the son of Drury Cook. However, some researchers have identified only two children of Drury, and neither of them Nathan. Drury had a brother, John Cook, b.1738, Brunswick Co, VA, d. 1799 Hancock Co, GA. John named one son Nathaniel Pearson Cook, the middle name his wife's maiden name. I'm beginning to think that maybe Nathan and Nathaniel are one and the same, and the son of John Cook. Would love to hear from anyone who might be able to shed some light on this, with sources! Bruce C. Cook AKA "Rusty" bccook@nh.ultranet.com

I have found a death certificate for Amos Cook, buried at Bethleham Cemetery near Wickliffe KY in Ballard County. I also, found an Amos Cook in the 1900 Carlisle Co, KY Census Amos, 1856, wife Josephine 1870, Effie daughter 1887 John S., son 1891 Can anyone claim this family? I visited Bethleham and found no stone for Amos ... My great g'pa (Jefferson Davis Cook 1860 - 1916) is buried there as well and my g g'ma is also in Carlisle Co in 1900 (Mary Emma Roach Cook). I can e-mail copies of these death certs and others if interested. I am "collecting death certificates" to help piece together these later Cook families in the western part of Kentucky. Dear Members, I received a letter from a member of one of these list asking me Why I removed them. I would like to clear up one thing with all of you, I don't remove anyone from any of these three list. I simplely let the computers of Rootsweb handle the removeals. The only reason the computer would remove you is do to bouncing mail. I've seen members of you that are on at least two of these list have bouncing mail on one but not the other, the only answer I have is that different computers handle different list. If for some reason you get bounced off a list please don't assume that I did it. I only go in and remove a person when they are having trouble removing themselves and have asked me for help. If you receive mail stateing you have been removed Please just resub yourself and put it off as a computer thingy. If I was to remove you for any other reason such as flaming then you would also be blocked from resub'ing till futher notice and you would be notified that I was removing you and why. Thank You all for being such wonderful and understanding members, I appreciate everyone of you.
