If there are any of you who connect to our family, you can see what I have on my file so far at http://members.tripod.com/~GeneaNel/miller/millpage.htm My file is not a fully documented file. I have included Daniel and his father, Wilhelm Koch, because at this point in time, this appears to be a firm connection based on various records I've seen. More than glad to share and hope some of you may be able to fill in some blanks. Cheers, Nel

His father, who I have as John Daniel was married to Anna Mary Bistle (Bistol). This may be a positive connection. Peyton E. Cook pecook@ac.net >>
Rick Norwood rtfact@hughes.net Hello. I'm looking for a starting point to find out about my COOK line. My GM was Maranda Gale COOK (1884-1959). She lived in Proctorville VT in her earlier years but in later years lived with my GF Edgar Alva NORWOOD in Medford MA. Her parents were Karl COOK and Ville BRYANT from somewhere in New England-perhaps MA. Thats all I know. Karl would probably have lived circa 1860-1940. Does anyone have any additional information? Thank you. Rick
Hello: If you have ANY ancestors that may have died in Rhode Island, there is a free resource you should be aware of: The Rhode Island Cemetery Project is attempting to put every know grave, from every cemetery in Rhode Island, on the Internet! They do NOT have them all on yet, but they have posted literally hundreds of thousands. These run the gamut from every town, from the early 1600's to the present, with surnames from A through Z. On the internet, they just list the names, dates and where the person is buried. They do NOT list entire gravestone inscriptions. To access this site, the address is: http://www.rootsweb,com/~rigenweb/cemetery/ Please post this to every genealogy list you belong to, and share it with any genealogical societies possible. This is my first posting in 1999. Looking for further info on my Cook Family who lived in Gilmer Co., Pickens Co., Cherokee County and Gordon County, Georgia during the 1850-1900 period. It is believed that prior to coming to Georgia, they lived in North Carolina. There has been some indications that my great grandfather, Guilford Cook may have descended from a Martha Cook (who may have not been married). Martha has been associated with a John Tucker (part Cherokee Indian) from North Carolina. It has not been confirmed whether John Tucker was the father of Guilford and his siblings. However, an Indian claim filed by Guilford's brother, Richard Cook indicated it was a possibility. I am specifically trying to verify Guilford Cook's ancestors and further info on Guilford's lst and 2nd marriages. It is known that some children from Guilford's 2nd & 3rd marriage are buried in Chattanooga, TN. I am descended from his 3rd marriage, so I have been able to verify most of those descendants. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has a connection to this family. Afternoon Cookies; I realized recently that it has been over a year since I posted. I am still searching for tangible evidence of HOWARD COOK's existence prior to 1880. Several of you graciously forwarded bits of information that has gotten me to this point ... hopefully I can gather one or two bits that will move me along ... HOWARD COOK was my maternal great grandfather. Other than being listed, quite briefly, in the two Workman family history books, I have never seen his name prior to the 1880 census. Last spring while I was in DC I located the annotated 1870 Annotated WVA Census. (1870 Census of Boone County, West Virginia, Annotated by Lenore Kingery Ferrell. Copyright 1993. Printed by Tri County Printers, Dansville, West Virginia.) This book lists a Hohard Cook under chlldren of William and Malinda Cook Wyoming Co. He was 9 and that he was not in the 1880 census. (This would fit with my Howard since I know he was in Boone County with the Amos Workman family in 1880 working as a hired laborer. I also show this William Cook as the son of James and Docia Meador Cook and Malinda as the daughter of Thomas and Eleen Riggins Cook. On the actual 1870 microfilm HOHARD is listed with siblings below: (I welcome corrections here ... as the film was dark and my eyes crossed after days in the NARA.) Parents were listed as William and Malinda Cook, Wyo Co and others in the house were Ellen, James, Judah, Eliza, Letha, Isaac, Charles and someone else, it was so faint I couldn't read the name. although at the moment,my primary interest is documenting Howard's birth I welcome all information about this family and will share what I have. Shortly after the 1880 census, Howard married one of the Workman daughters (Elnora (aka Anna) Workman). They moved to Johnson Co. KS. They had six children. If anyone would like me to fill in from here, please e-mail me directly. Best, Susan Hedrick-Chaffin Woodbury, CT schaffin@wtco.net
