    2. ROBERT NICHOLSON
    3. I thought everyone was looking for Cooks in NC. There are certainly plenty of "loose" Cooks in NC and VA and some of those Cooks, or their descendants, moved to such places as TN, KY, AL, etc. But it is not an easy task to get these people placed in the right family lines. Let's have some patience. Robert Nicholson -----Original Message----- From: DuteClay@aol.com [mailto:DuteClay@aol.com] Sent: Thursday, April 15, 1999 5:19 PM To: COOK-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [COOK-L] Mississippi / Alabama/ North Carolina/Virginia Is anyone on this list searching for COOKs in these locations (MS - AL - NC - VA)? I am like the other person who is unsubscribing............no one looking for Cooks in the areas that I am searching. So I will give this list a few more days and bid good-bye if there is no response. I have not encountered this problem with other lists....too bad.

    2. Yes, and some of our kin moved to Texas where we multiplied and spread out across the nation again. Yours truly is one of myriad descendants of Silas Cooke of North Carolina to Henry Marchant Cooke his son to my gg grandfather Francis Jarvis Cooke of Hempstead, TX. I enjoy the Cook List even though my line has been thoroughly researched. I especially look forward to sharing "A Morning Cup of Coffee" on Sunday mornings. Also I have posted on other Cook web sites and have had several hits. Best Wishes and Long Life to All My Cousins & Friends

    2. I am searching for information about J.W. Cook (my gg grandfather) who was born abt 1816 in Tennessee and was found living in Jackson County, Alabama in 185- and 1860. He most likely died abt 1865. There is a J.W. Cook in the 1840 Federal Census for Weakley County, Tennessee. This J.W. Cook lived next to a Willis Cook. I would like to find out if the J.W. Cook in Weakley County, Tn in 1840 is my J.W. Cook in Jackson County, Alabama. If so, who was Willis Cook and his ancestorage? Can some one please help me? Gene Key Dallas, Tx.

    2. Hi Cook Cousins, Here is what I know about my Cook line. I don't know anything about John. All I know is that Edmond's brother, Henry, served in the Revolutionary War for his father John. Story is that Henry was born in Lunenburg Co, VA, but I don't know that John was. I went to Lunenburg County but did not find any information. They would not let me see the records as they were too old. They said maybe some day someone would pay to have them preserved so that people could look at them.
