So who are MY Lyman Cook's parents?. He was born in 1847, I think in New York. He married Lucy Hanley, Handley. I am not sure where she was from; WI, IL or IA. She stated each state on a different certificate! I need a definite resource about Lyman. I think he was from Saratoga County, NY . Sharon

I just got back from my grandmother's funeral (she made it all the way to 99 years, 7 months) in Florida at the Flagler Memorial Cemetery. Her name was Alice Delight Allen Cook (1902-2001). She was married to Frank Wilson Cook (1904-1946). Frank's brother and sister were Ralph and Mary Ethel Cook Justice (Sept 30 1897, May 21 1974). Some Cooks I found in the cemetery seemingly unrelated to my family follow. Maybe someone can use the information from the headstones: Fred E Cook, Florida, CMI USNR, WW II, Dec 11 1898, Nov 6 1957 John M Pratt, Tennessee, PVT CO D 1 REGT Infantry, Aug 28 1871, Nov 29 1963 Lucille L Cook Narish, 1901-1971, Born Knoxville Tenn., Daughter of John M Pratt Gordon O Cook, 1884-1973 (husband), Ethel M Cook, 1891-1970 (wife) Mother Hattie G Wilson, 1869 - 1968 (was next to the next in list, so maybe a relative) Jack Gilman Cook, Sgt US Air Force, Aug 8 1947, Jan 10 1984 Barney Lee Cook, Florida, Pvt, US Marine Corps, WW I, Dec 22 1901, Feb 27 1955

Hi all, Please forgive if you receive this message more than once. I'm trying to reach as many people as possible. Effective yesterday, I am now discussion coordinator for the SPAM list at Rootsweb. This will be my primary list now to discuss Family Discovery and their associate domains and any other of their ilk that comes along to plague us! :) Also, any SPAM-related issue is permitted for discussion. Since many of you send my Family Discovery messages out to your friends, relatives and lists, you might also want to let them know I'm cranking this group up. It's one that's been on Rootsweb's books but hasn't been used for years. I hope to make this list one that nobody wants to miss out on. To join, simply address a new email form to: [email protected] (for individual messages) OR [email protected] (for the digest) Put the word subscribe in the top line of the body and mail it. This list may be super quiet until Family Discovery (or anyone else) decides to begin their onslaughts, or it may be high-trafficked. We won't know until we all come together and see who's been receiving what. I hope this finds each of you having a WONDERFUL week! :) Colleen

GedLink is a new project (started last May) aiming at CONNECTING people researching on their family in a very SIMPLE and EFFICIENT way. Give GedLink a family name, and see instantly on a world map if someone has information about it... At this time, more than 10000 people in 56 countries are participating and testing the project, sharing more than 3 million names in a database you can search in. Most of the current testers come from Canada, France, Germany and we would appreciate to welcome more people from the U.S.A., the U.K., Australia, new Zealand (or from any other country!). I invite you to read the information at www.gedlink.com <http://www.gedlink.com> on why to participate and how to share your data. I hope you'll find it easy to use. Feel free to contact me, Regards, Olivier Hergault -GedLink Project- P.S. Though you may read that you can become a member and pay a low annual fee to support this project, this is NOT mandatory. GedLink is basically FREE OF USE. Since GedLink is relatively new, we still consider it a beta program, so feel free to send us your comments and suggestions. We are constantly improving it !
