    3. Hello Converse Friends, My paternal grand mother was Eleanor Robinson Converse Brooks. Her father was Capt. Lorenzo Converse, whose father was Dr. Jacob Converse, whose father was Lieut. Jacob Converse, whose father was Ensign Edward Converse, whose father was Samuel Converse, Jr., whose father was Sergeant Samuel Converse, the son of Deacon Edward Converse. This can be traced in the two volume work with a long title the essence of which is "Descendants of Samuel Converse, Jr.," first published in 1905, reprinted by NEHGS about 1986. I am interested in all Converse matters, but particularly interested in learning details of the lineage of Miss Eleanor Robinson, who married Dr. Jacob Converse (1766-1804). She was supposed to be "a descendant of Rev. John Robinson, the Leyden pastor of the Plymouth church and of Eleanor Robinson, a legatee of Capt. Miles Standish." But I have almost no details. Can anyone help? My paternal grandmother, Eleanor Robinson Converse Brooks was an aunt of Charles Crozat Converse, the talented musician who is remembered for the hymn "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". I will be glad to hear from anyone who knows about him and his family. I look forward to hearing from you, Converse cousins! Cordially, Rev. Frank Allard Brooks 2011 Robin Hill Lane, Carrollton, TX 75007-1612 (fabrooks28@aol. com)
