Since then, another person provided me with the link from James Convis back to Edward Converse, but this adds some confermation and a few more leads on other branches. Thanks again, Stephen Jay A. 3. I'm new to the Converse List, but I have been trying to track down the Converse family and descendants of Sallie Converse and George Vredenburgh for some time. Sallie Converse, b. July 1802 to Elias Converse and Sarah Burrows married George Vredenburgh, one of the first residents of Montezuma, Cayuga County, NY sometime shortly after 1819. Their marriage was the first in Savannah Township, Wayne County, NY and their child was also the first in that township. You can see Sallie's lineage on my webpage at: http://userzweb.lightspeed.net/~vredenb/gedcom/g0000010.html#I47 I have a paper which discusses this family (and other Vredenburgh's) which begins at: http://userzweb.lightspeed.net/~vredenb/wmv01.htm#WILLIAM AND HIS DESCENDANTS Would like to talk to anyone who knows anything about this family. THANKS!! Larry Vredenburgh

They had at least one child, Lillian Love HALL, who was born 19 November 1853 in Toldeo, Lucas, Ohio. This family may have removed to Michigan, because in 1875, Lillian married Norman H. Folks interested in helping RootsWeb provide new facilities can become Members by using the Web form at: <http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html>http://www.rootswe b.com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html By the way, the next server we'll be bringing online will be a box dedicated to supporting Marc Nozell's HTMLized versions of the mailing list archives.  We should have that box online within 48 hours, though it's reasonable to expect Marc to need a little time after that to get his software installed.  (: Projects after that include a dedicated IRC server, upgrading the mail hub, upgrading the main Web server, building a NT-based FrontPage server, bringing a "dirtylists" list server online, and bringing a third ordinary list server online. [ The "dirtylists" server is for the big, rarely used announcement   lists.  We've developed a number of those things with 5,000 to   300,000 subscribers, and every time a post drops we kick the   daylights out of the list server with hundreds or even thousands of   bounces.  We need a specially tuned box to handle these turkeys. ] No rest for the wicked, I suppose ...  Cheers, B. -- Dr. Brian Leverich       Co-moderator, soc.genealogy.methods/GENMTD-L RootsWeb Genealogical Data Cooperative       <http://www.rootsweb.com/>http://www.rootsweb.com/ P.O. 3. Hey guys, There have been a couple of comments made privately about my request for contributions for the lists. 1. NO ONE has to contribute for any of these lists to stay around. The last posting certainly was not meant as a ultimatum...it was just an email to raise funds for RootsWeb. 2. I am NOT a owner of RootsWeb. I know it's confusing. I am the "owner" of this list and several others but really the title ought to be "list manager." I just started these lists and I try to keep the bad addresses to a minimum to avoid extra strain on the server. 3. I receive NO money from RootsWeb. In fact, I just sent them $100 as my contribution. :) I hope that clears up a couple of things for folks. I know, it's kind of like magic that these wonderful emails appear in your box but there really is "a man behind the curtain" so to speak. :) Thanks! 1. Ruth CONVERSE of Woburn, MA
    2. Rhett Regina Owings
    3. Hello Converse researchers, I am new to this list, and was hoping to read a few queries before I posted mine, but since our listowner has requested some activity, I thought I would start asking for help. I am looking for Ruth CONVERSE who married into my FLAGG line. Wilmington, MA VRs, page 117, marriages: Ruth Converse of Woburn and Ephraim Flagg of Wilmington, ____, 1757. Woburn Record of Marriages, page 60: Ruth Converse of Woburn and Ephraim Flagg of Wilmington, ____, 1757. My guess is that Ruth is connected to Edward CONVERSE (bap 1588-1663) and his wife, Sarah PARKER. I think she must have been the daughter of one of his sons or grandsons. Now Josiah CONVERSE, son of Maj. James CONVERSE (1645-1706) had a daughter, Ruth, born 28 July 1714 in Woburn, MA, but that seems awfully old to be my Ruth. She would have been 43 at her marriage. She had at least 2 children (that I know of), Ebenezer and Gershom, before Ruth and Ephraim moved to Mason, NH. I have been looking at Middlesex Deeds 1711-1721 for CONVERSE records. I have found a number of land deeds involving Ruth Converse and James Converse, and Ruth / Josiah as grantors. Also, Josiah's estate in 1751 and Ruth as a grantor in 1751. Can't figure who this Ruth is. Is anyone else working on a Ruth CONVERSE, Josiah CONVERSE, Robert CONVERSE, James CONVERSE, or others from Woburn, Wilmington or Middlesex County? Would like to compare with anyone on this problem. Thanks, Rhett Regina Owings georgeo@earthlink.net
