I also just bought a Win 7 laptop and was having the same problem. My son showed me that the touch pad works like the new iPhone screens. You take two fingers and "stretch" or "shrink" the screen/text size by pulling the fingers out digaonally or pulling them in. I would have never figured that one out on my own! My problem is that the touch pad is way too sensitive for me, so I have to be very careful to keep one hand away so I don't do something by accident.
