    3. Hi Nivard, This is the fastest scanner I have ever used, at least three times as fast as the 4490....it does have adapters for a couple of different negative sizes, and if you will go on the Epson mailing list, there was a discussion on how to scan other size negatives. And there is an adapter for 35mm slides....and for some other size that I do not have media that size. I believe that I ordered one different size adapter for some of my slides from Epson, at a very modest price. When I bought this from Epson I talked to their salesman and he was so helpful and answered all my questions. I would have bought the V700...a step up, but it is a much higher price and I couldn't justify the higher cost at that time. The V600 has been a real blessing for my needs....especially since it is much faster. I have done about 5000 slides with this scanner....in about a third the time that I did another 5000 with other scanners. Hope you can find a scanner that suits your needs. I have really enjoyed seeing my slides "come alive" and relive the wonderful times we had when I took those images. Beth <snip> Hi Beth Thanks for your reply I see this scanner is still available and it looks as if it comes with some adapters for scanning negatives Will this scan all varieties of negatives do you know? Is it a fairly fast machine as I may have a lot to do of various types of negatives and size of photo's Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)

    3. Thanks Beth I just noticed you say this one is a fair bit faster than the 4490 Certainly that would be an asset to me so worth considering Its a big market when you start looking isn't it? 3. Yes Nivard, it really is a big market and that gives you lots of choices. I was using the older Epson 4490 and I just seemed to wear it out...something when a bit crazy with it, and the techs for Epson and the sales people were so great to help me try to fix it....but something was hanging up and just not working. It had been a very slow operating scanner, so I looked at newer models and other brands...but kept coming back to Epson, and they made me a very attractive offer since I was an Epson user, and so since I really needed one as soon as possible, I bought the V600 from Epson. And I was really amazed at how much faster it scanned....it really helped me scan the last of my slides in a much shorter time. This made a big difference to me because I am trying to get all images and genealogy information in order for my children. I still need to put names and media information into my photos and slides....sadly back in the 1970's and 1980's my cameras did not import that information like the new digital cameras do....and at that time I was not good about getting ALL the information needed into the files. Hope you can do lots of "looking" and find the right scanner for you. Keep us posted.
