    3. I ran out of two color inks. I replaced them with Canon cartridges for the Pixma MP560, I can't remember why but I took two cartridges out at the same time. Now it won't work. All I get is the "U043 the following ink tank cannot be recognized." Both of the new cartridges are the one's not recognized. This is one of the best printers I've ever had and I don't want to throw it away, can anyone help "fix" it? Please KSnow Occam's Razor isn't about proving something, it's just about taking the best guess. ======= Email scanned by PC Tools - No viruses or spyware found. 3. Hi there, here are a range of 'solutions' that I found by googling the problem. For troubleshooting purposes, Perform the following: 1. Open the printer and remove all ink tanks. 2. Insert a single ink tank in the printer then close the cover. 3. Confirm whether the printer recognizes the installed tank properly. If it does, it will indicate it does not detect the other ink tanks, as they are not currently installed in the printer. 4. Repeat steps 1-3 with another ink tank. 5. If the printer at any time indicates two of the same ink tanks are installed, the cause will be the last tank installed. For example, if you inserted an ink tank earlier, and you later inserted another ink tank, and it said two of the same inks were installed, the cause of the issue is the last ink tank. Alternatively sometimes when you change your ink it doesnt register.hold down the stop/reset button and it will bypass that The solution above is a good temporary solution, but the error message kept appearing for me. I finally ran out of ink and replaced the cartridges. No more error messages! After doing some research, I discovered Canon had apparently released a "bad batch" of these ink cartridges which causes the error message. It has something to do with the chip on the front of the cartridges. Something I dredged up from my childhood - using an eraser to rub off whatever has built up on those metallic sensors. Used to have to do that on the electric racecars that kept getting slower and slower... Had the same error after replacing my black ink om my MP830.(UO71) I Put some Methylated Spirits on a cotton tip and gently cleaned the cartridge chip (allow it to air dry). This fixed my problem! I had this problem on my MP600 and tried tweaking and cleaning the contacts, cleaning the print heads, etc. Finally realized that when I inserted the cartridge gently the red light didn't come on but when I inserted with pressure, the red light came on but when I removed my hand, the light went out. I put 5 layers of scotch tape on the back end of the cartridge to push it forward slightly......Yay, it works now. ----- Original Message ----- From: "PastTracker" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 8:29 PM Subject: [COMPUTERS] Canon Pixma MP560 >I ran out of two color inks.
