I have been having problems recently with XP unexpectedly locking up and requiring me to shut down and reboot. My security program, F-Secure, doesn't show any problems. I am hoping that someone can explain to me how to run the repair function of Windows XP in hopes that that will correct the problem without having to wipe out the hard drive and start from scratch as that is an expensive proposition. Am I correct in thinking that the repair function will not delete information such as email addresses and my genealogy information? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
