How can I tell if my Computer is running out of Memory and is there a difference between Memory and virtual Memory.? A message comes up on my Computer saying it is out of virtual memory. First of all, Windows 7 does NOT contain Outlook Express. As for RAM (memory) and Virtual memory (swap file on the hard drive), the VM will kick in when you run out of RAM. The settings for the VM may be set for a low amount which had to be set by someone. The default setting, is to allow "The System' to manage it. What programs are you running when you get this message?
