I downloaded Open Office on Fri. of last week and have been transferring files from c d's. I am not having any problem opening files and adding other information to them or starting new ones. This program is new to me. I need something to replace MS Word. I ordered a new computer that will not have MS Word and have lots of genealogy files I do not want to loose. Open Office is converting each C D that has Word docs. Sorry I cannot be more help. I will be interested to hear comments from others about Open Office.
