We are mixing apples and oranges here. You have a physical dimension to work with so screen size will not help you at all. Go to Amazon.com and search for computer monitors. When I dis the search, an ASUS 22 inch monitor was the first one listed. If you scroll down the page you will find: Product Dimensions: 20.2 x 7.9 x 15.2 inches. In this case, it will fit your available space. Check out the two you are looking at look for the PRODUCT or PHYSICAL dimensions.
