    3. That happens with me quite often with my Comcast email and I have to phone them. It's usually because they changed some of their port numbers in the advanced settings without informing their customers. This morning it didn't so I am using BT Yahoo which sits behind my Windows Live Mail to send this. But that is not as convenient and takes much longer. Note I have not changed my password. And rebooting does not help. I have been told I should not have both systems open at the same time and normally I don't - this morning is an exception as having them both open at once is the only way I could get the info into this email but they were not both open when it failed. 3. Hi Nivard, Mary and All, Thank you for your replies. It has decided to work now without any changes on my part. I don't think it is the provider because it rectifies itself - EVENTUALLY - without me contacting them. When the computer was under guarantee I used to be able to phone up and they would sort it out by changing something in my settings over the phone. The trouble was windows would come and go so fast that I couldn't follow what they were doing. So if I knew what to change I could do it myself. The problem has not arisen for a year or two and now it is back. I don't really want to change systems as I am familiar with this one. So if anyone knows what I need to change the info would be very welcome.
