    1. [COMPUTERS] Next Monday's Oxfordshire FHS talk
    2. Oxfordshire Family History Society's computer-flavoured talk this coming Monday (3 February 2014) is entitled :- Breaking down brick walls in your family history research. It will be presented by Mark Bayley of S&N Genealogy. Mark says that his talk will look at how to resolve stumbling blocks in your family history research using new and unique search strategies to find those missing relatives. He will illustrate techniques including how to search for a family using just the individuals' forenames and the use of keyword search tools using criteria other than a name to search on. The talk also covers unique data sets such as non-conformist records, non-parochial records, Fleet marriages, will images, parish records, military records, directories, newspapers and the like. Mark is currently working as the head of the online division and is company director at S&N Genealogy, and has been involved in many aspects of genealogy and the family business from an early age. The talk will commence at 7:30pm, with doors open from 7:15pm, at the Exeter Hall, Oxford Road, Kidlington, OX5 1AB. Directions are at _www.ofhs.org.uk/ExeterHall.html_ (http://www.ofhs.org.uk/ExeterHall.html) . All are welcome, including non-members of the society.
