I have a new computer with windows 8 and have transferred many files from my old XP computer. Once the files are on my windows 8 computer some will not open so that I can work with them. Many are as attachments. I do not know what programs were used to write the file. Is there a way to get these file to open so that I can see what they are and also get them open so I can work with them? Some of the files are pictures, some are e mails and some are for my family history. Please list by steps on how to open these files. Thanks. Gerry Sent from Windows Mail
