Nancy I had a similar problem with Word read only files but it said Word - Read only at the top of the file. If this is the case, you cannot do any editing and will have to create a Word file with the subject matter. Bob thank you. I think you mean I should copy and paste it and then work on it. I did that. One thing though, I may have clicked on convert each of these times. Could that be the issue? Nancy I did essentially what you did. I opened a clean copy of Word. I then copied the read-only content and pasted it on the new Word copy. I didn't use convert. I am not sure what it does.
