Colleagues The next computer meeting of the Oxfordshire Family History Society will take place on Monday 7 April 2014. It will be held at the usual venue at Exeter Hall, Oxford Road, Kidlington, Oxford OX5 1AB. Doors open at 7.15pm, with the subject of the talk at 7.30pm being :- The fascination of Maps, Old & New - Where to find them and what they tell us about our ancestors This will be presented by Dr Alan Simpson. Alan tells me that his intention is to look at the various sources of maps available on the internet, ranging from very early maps, enclosure maps and through to Google Earth. The speaker also hopes to look at ways to create your own maps as means of illustrating your family history. Our speaker Dr Alan Simpson needs little introduction. He holds various roles within the society, and has been a member of the computer panel since its formation some ten or more years ago. His personal website can be found at _www.shotover.org.uk_ (http://www.shotover.org.uk/) . All members, potential members and their guests are welcome.
