    3. Hi Carolyn, I have been running Windows 8 for some time now, and didn`t like it at all at first. I then upgraded to Windows 8.1 (free download from Microsoft) and now enjoy using Win 8.!. May I suggest you subscribe to newsletter@howtogeek.com which provides a great deal of help. Also, if you download and install Classis Shell, you can start Windows 8 just as you did XP or 7. I`m a couple of months shy of 89, and if I can easily manage it, anyone can. Go for it!! 2. Ken, I just went from Windows XP to 8.1 a couple of days ago and find it fairley to use. I'm not very happy with the picture folders though it's probably a matter of getting used to it. I'm used to doing a lot of organizing and re-organizing my pictures and it does look easy to do that. Nancy PS I'm in my seventies! -----Original Message----- From: Ken Smart <ksmart1@optusnet.com.au> To: computers <computers@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sun, Mar 23, 2014 5:16 pm Subject: Re: [COMPUTERS] Windows 7 tips Hi Carolyn, I have been running Windows 8 for some time now, and didn`t like it at all at first. 3. Hi Ken and Nancy, Thank you so much for the encouragement. My Mom is in her late 70's and I am about to turn 60. Mom has so much stressing her out right now (my Dad's and her bad health), and she is NOT looking forward to having to change. I will probably adapt to it better than she will because I like computers. Uh... well ... let me rephrase that... I have a "love-hate" relationship with computers. I love them when I can get them to do what I want and I hate them when they don't do what I want. LOL! Anyway, I will be setting up my new computer shortly. Mom's is also being installed this weekend. Thanks again.... Later...
