I totaly agree with Lori. I foolishly just purchased another one of their computers after the first one (top of their line) gave me trouble right from the start. Gears were not working right, could hear the noise, took it back to Staples who would not do anything about it, although I had purchased an additional warranty from them. They told me that I had to communicate with HP directly for any help. Could not get anywhere with HP until my tech called them on the phone and "insisted" they do something about it after he went thru many many steps with them on the phone. Finally they agreed to send me a new printer, exactly the same one, they did, it was a rebuild printer and lasted only two years. I then foolishly purchased another HP printer because the man at Best Buy gave me a good story about how HP computers were the best now. This time I purchased the cheapest HP computer Best Buy had with idea I would probably have to purchase anyother and would not lose so much money. I now have an Envy 4500 which the salesman told me would print everything including be able to copy and send documents/photos etc. over the internet. It will not. I had the tech from Best Buy install it for me to make sure it was done correctly. I called them back when I learned that it would not copy and send a document or photo over the internet, THEN I LEARNED that I had to purchase extra software from them in order to do this. As just a printer it works fine but will not scan and send over the internet. Lori, I purchased an HP Compaq Elite 8300 All in One. Looked very impressive and for a while worked well ( came with Windows 7 Pro ) installed. It worked for a few months, then suddenly gave up the ghost. Contacted HP Tech Assistance and no one could work out the problem. After a couple of months procrastination, HP replaced the computer. I have had a number of problems with this one, and in the last instance, could not get the problem fixed by the Indian technicians. Finally, fixed it myself. I have little faith in HP Tech Support, and if I get another problem, will get rid of all the HP baggage on the computer and install my own copy of Windows 7, which I have purchased in anticipation. Having said that, the computer is now behaving itself. It must be aware of what is in store for it. There are a number of All in One Computers available, and I suggest a Google search, particularly looking at Reviews. Hope you have better luck than mine. My mother has been looking for a new desktop. She does not want a laptop. She has run across the all in one computers with the large screen. I think HP has a line called Envy. I haven't paid any attention to these since it's not something I'm interested in. Does anyone have any knowledge, experience, or opinions on these type of machines?
