In Microsoft Works Word Processor click on Insert/Special Character. With the Symbol tab forward look for the macron on the third line, ninth column. Click on the macron, then Insert. Close the dialogue box, then type the letter. It will appear under the macron. This doesn't work in Microsoft Office Word. Also, have a look at the link below.
