    2. I do not know much about changing Fonts in other languages , but when I did a Google search , there are links to give you Info on what I think you are looking for ............. Gerri Mason OhiO In a message dated 7/26/2009 12:21:31 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, lilagarner@hotmail.com writes: Is there any font or keyboard action that will create a macron over a letter? I found Maori font directions, but that won't work for me. I work with old German records--the year in question is 1736, but this practice spreads over a long period of time: when the scribe writes "Ana" he makes a line over the n, which creates a double-n, and the person's name is Anna. Another example: Nieman with a line over the final n, meaning Niemann. While n seems to be the most common, other letters are also written with the macron or line, so I need to figure out how to make that double line over any letter. What I really would like is an alphabet, the line over each letter, that I can keep on my desktop and copy and paste when needed. I'm not very adept at downloading and installing things and figuring out how to make them work. Thanks for any help. It's not a font problem, it's extended ASCII codes. You simply need the table of ASCII codes, then you input the number using the 'alt' key (I believe), and the numbers on your number pad. I can't seem to do it with this laptop with no number pad.

    3. Yes, the macron is Alt +0175, but how do I put the macron over the n? My laptop has some blue characters on the keys with the letters and I have to use alt + ctrl to + the correct code numbers to make the extended ASCII codes with them.
