    3. Thanks for all the replies. The laptop I am having problem cleaning up is an HP Pavilon Entertainment PC. I have the directions on how to make the restore disks, but I want to clean up as much as I can before I do it. I am most concerned as to what items would be copied at this late date. (Extras I've added, and things I've removed. ???) I have tried to remove everything my Granddaughter had added, but looking it over today I find there are still more to do. One thing that has me stumped is that there is a folder - C:\Users\Kyra (her name) but the User file folder has no user by that name now, and the Owner folder is now stuck on the Desktop - - - so where do these belong? And --- how do I correct or remove them? A simple delete ??? I have a user account in my name and my files are in a directory by that name, but when I open a saved html file from that directory into Firefox, it replaces my name with Kyra's. Guess I will put this aside for a few hours, then maybe my brain will work better. 3. You don't have to clean up the hard drive before making the Restore disks. It won't make any difference. The files to restore your computer should be in a partition of their own, that is, drive D. When you make the restore disks, the computer is going to copy the files from the D: drive only. It's not going to copy any files from the C: drive, which is the reason you don't need to clean up the C: drive. Nothing you have added or removed from the computer will affect what is placed on the Restore disks, unless you have deliberately altered files on the D: drive. If you are going to Restore the computer to its factory condition, there's no point in fixing the problem with the Users. It will be wiped out. Diana > Thanks for all the replies. 3. Thanks for the info. I am hoping I can fix the problem without going through a full restore. Time will tell.
