    2. I hope this is the correct list for my query. I signed up to Genealogy bank for two months, Feb.& Mar 2009, then canceled my account. Last month, Apr 2009, I went to GB to search the Free Soc. Sec Death Index a couple of times. When I got my Credit Card Statement yesterday, Genealogy Bank had charged my Card for 19.95.for the month of April. Do I have to pay to search the SSDI? Lloyd

    3. Hi Lloyd I can't answer your question on Genealogy Bank as I have never heard of it but for future needs, the SSDI is available for free on familysearch It sounds like you should be complaining to Genealogy Bank asking for a refund as you had cancelled >From their site :- The Social Security Death Index contains over 84.1 million death records for individuals with United States social security numbers. This free database provides helpful family history information including name, birth date, death date and last known residence. Search for free. The key words are *search* for free, details would be chargeable I would have thought Best wishes Nivard Ovington, in Cornwall (UK) >I hope this is the correct list for my query. > I signed up to Genealogy bank for two months, Feb.& Mar 2009, then > canceled my account.
