Hi Myra, On Microsoft Windows operating systems, a thumbnail cache is a file used to store thumbnail images for Windows Explorer's thumbnail view. This speeds up the display of images as the smaller images do not need to be recalculated every time the user views the folder. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thumbs.db To remove these files and stop them from coming back, follow the following instructions... http://www.pchell.com/support/thumbsdb.shtml The files are small but do take up space. Regards, Kevin. It's an icon named THUMBS, and has a little decoration of 2 little gears overlapping, the upper left one green, the lower right one light orange. When I click on it, it says: > Caution > You are attempting to open a file of type 'Data Bse File' (.db) > These files are used by the operating system and by various > programs. I've been deleting them, but when I look in my Recycle bin, they are not always there.
