Hi Judith A simple way to achieve a similar result, for browser viewed chart is HTMLPedigree, which converts a gedcom file into a JavaScript series of linked files, with an index, and you can attach pictures, documents other web links, etc. You can view a sample and/or download a free trial version at http://www.htmlpedigree.com/index.htm - it is a lot easier than programming an Excel worksheet. I use it for my online trees and on a CD Version of the full tree. Hi Listers, I came across a website on the net which had a family tree set out as a chart. It has the usual boxes and lines connecting it, however on the right hand side of each of the names is the individual number for that person in red which is actually a hyperlink which then opens to another box with the birth, marriage and death info. Question 1. What program does this? Question 2. Is there any way of importing this into Exel and having it work and if so how? There are about 150 names in the tree. Regards Judith :-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~: If it's not immediately apparent, be sure to mention how your query relates to family research. Please don't post promotions of commercial products or services, and avoid mentioning prices. :-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~: ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to COMPUTERS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Hi Bernard, Thanks for the link I have just checked it out. It certainly would be a much simpler way of getting the information on line in a usable format.
