-----Original Message----- From: computers-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:computers-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Kevin Ross Hi Carolyn, Please don't be confused between an anti-virus program and an anti- spyware program. They are two different beasts !!!....snip... ========================================================= Thanks, Kevin, Steve and Lloyd, No, I know that Norton is antivirus and Spyware Doctor is for spyware. However, my Norton does have a component called antispyware (apparently it is not working too well, though!!). My main concern was that there are no conflicts between Norton and Spyware Doctor. Also, I was wondering if any of you had any experience with Spyware Doctor, whether or not you all think it is a decent product. I thank you all for the responses and for your suggestions. I keep thinking about AVG, because I hear about it all the time on this list. I guess I'm just one of those people who figure if it's "free," then maybe it's not that good (because I have always felt like there is NOTHING free!) Smile! However, right about now, I am feeling a little silly because I have the latest, greatest (supposedly) Norton antivirus, and I keep it updated, but I just am not too sure that I am all that protected against threats out there. Of course, there are NO guarantees. Sigh! I may very well give AVG a chance when this Norton subscription runs out. But, back to the original question, does anyone on this list know if Spyware Doctor is any good? Thanks! ... And best wishes to all on this list for a pleasant week.... Carolyn I run Spyware Doctor and Norton Internet Security and haven't had any conflict problems. And you are right, Norton Antispy detects very little spyware. A tracking cookie now and then.
