I have a VERY slow dial up connection and some upgrade downloads take up to 7 or 8 hrs. Usually, I get kicked off before then and have to start over. I hope someone can point me toward a good download manager (a FREE one) I have been told that can make a download faster and if you lose the connection it will pick up where it left off instead of starting at the beginning again. Thanks, Jo
A good Free one is Star Downloader. Google will find it for you. Good Luck, Ken Smart.
Hi Jo, I would recommend Leech Get. It is a very good download manager You can get the Free or paid version. The main difference is that in the Free version you have to wait until you have downloaded your first selection before selecting anything else. The paid one you can have a number of downloads queued up. I have tried a number of different ones and Leech Get is both stable and easy to use. You will find it at http://www.leechget.net It also has a resume function so if your connection drops off for whatever the reason it will resume from where you left off.
