    3. I am using Windows XP home edition and outlook express v.6 I have several folders set up with the names that I am researching and when I receive mail regarding that family, I save it into their folder. I just went into outlook express to find an old email and discovered that my folders stop at the name "Cox" any folders after that have disappeared. I now have 6 folders that I set up and named when I should have 15 or 20!! I have no idea where they went, is there anyway to get them back???? Help!! Jo

    3. With a little luck, you've only corrupted the database of the folders, not the mail.Go into your settings in OE, and find in one of the tabs where it shows the mail storage folder. Just highlight that and copy (cntrl+c). Open Windows Explorer (win key = e), click in the address bar near the top, and paste (cntrl+v), hit enter. This will take you to the directory where your mail is stored. You should have a file for each folder you have in OE, with an extension of dbx. There will also be one named folders.dbx, which is the list of your folders. See if you find the files with the missing folder names... If those are still present, you can begin to re-build the folder database in folders.dbx. I forget the exact steps to doing this - so maybe one of the links provided by Kevin will show you how to do that.
