Check all of your folders on the off chance you accidently dragged a folder containing other folders to yet...another folder. I have a habit of dragging emails into folders, etc. and sometimes find myself saying 'whoa Nelly' because I've dragged and put something in the wrong place. Try to do a 'search' for one or two of the missing emails that might have been saved. Try to search using a word or phrase to limit the search if possible (surname maybe or birthplace).
