    1. [COMPUTERS] How to set up remote control

    3. Hi. Can anyone advise me on how to set up remote control for my sister's computer please? I am going over to Ireland shortly where my sister lives. I would like to set up her computer while I am there so that when I come back home to England I can help her when she gets into difficulties. Any advice would be very gratefully received. Kind regards. Jean McCarthy nee Moore -- http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jeanmccarthy36/ jeanmccarthy36@googlemail.com JEAN.MCCARTHY@MSGH-TR.WMIDS.NHS.UK

    3. Hi Jean, I suggest you read the following on Remote Access software... Best Free Remote Access Software http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-remote-access-software.htm It all depends how much "control" you want to have over the remote computer. One of the most important considerations is whether you want to have a software that allows you to control the system while it is "unattended". Specifically, ask yourself the question... would I need to be able to reboot the system from my remote location. To do this you need a software like UltraVNC which runs as a service on the remote computer and allows you to restart the system from your remote location. If you do not need this level of control, then you can use a remote access software such as CrossLoop. I have used this program with much success, but if you need to restart the remote system as part of your debugging process, you will need to have someone at the remote location do this for you. Hope this helps. Regards, Kevin.
