Once you close your account with Earthlink, it's dead, including your old email address. Some ISPs can make arrangements for your Email to work for at least a while, but they often charge some fee for that. Ask them. Earthlink MAY have a deal where you get a discount for still using them by the Verizon access, but again, it won't be free.
