    1. Re: [COMPUTERS] Removing Unused Registry Key
    2. Ike Dawson
    3. Good Afternoon All I have just found two Registry entries flagged as "Registry Fixes" requiring repair and I cannot fix either ... EVEN by using Regedit! They are: Unused File Extension HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\{80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79} and Empty Registry Key LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\{80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79} The fascinating thing is three physically separated machines on different phone lines with only me in common, have EXACTLY the same Unused File Extension and Empty Registry Key. Neither Advanced System Care nor CCleaner will remove them although both detect them. Normally I can remove such things by running Regedit and editing the registry directly but neither of these will allow me to edit / remove them! All machines are running XP; one Home and two Professional All are patched up to date and very kosher. All run Advanced System Care and CCleaner All run Avira AV, SpyBlaster One has Comodo Pro Firewall: two use Windows Firewall One has Office 97; two Office 2003 All connect via a NetGear Router and Tiscali ADSL Can anyone suggest what could possibly be the source or cause or have any idea what goes on: I'm mystified. Yours aye Ike Dawson
