    1. [COMPUTERS] Corrupt Folder on flash drive wont delete?
    2. Judith
    3. Hi Listers, I have an 8 gb flash drive on which I keep a spare copy of my family tree data including FTM. Unfortunately the main folder is now corrupted. I cannot open it and it will not let me delete it, even using Unlocker. I have a couple of other folders on the flash drive which are okay, but the bulk of the storage on this flash drive is taken up with my genealogy folder which make is pretty much useless. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it please? Regards Judith

    3. Hi Judith, You can try a File Recovery program like this one... http://www.pcinspector.de/Sites/file_recovery/info.htm?language=1 More discussion here... http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-data-recovery-file-undelete-utility.htm As well, please be sure that you are using the "Safely Remove Hardware" ICON in your System Tray to "Stop" activity on your Flash Drive before you remove it.  Many times data is written to the Flash Drive well after you have stopped copying files to and from the drive. It is important to stop this activity before you remove the Flash Drive or you may only partially write a file to the Drive, potentially causing some corruption.  This may be a reason why you have a corrupt folder ?!?!? 3. Hi Kevin, Thanks for the suggestion. I was actually trying to get a delete program, as I am doubtful that a recovery program will work. I had two other files on the drive which were also corrupted which I managed to open....the data in each was totally corrupted but I managed to delete them using Unlocker. With the large file I am now trying to remove I had intended replacing the file [folder actually] with the latest version, so I dont need the contents, I just want it off my flash drive so I can save the latest version on there.
