    3. Hi all For the past couple of weeks I/we are having intermittent connection problems and wondered if anyone can advise further ways to find the problem Using Netgear router, Sky broadband , village location, semi rural (2 miles from a town) Win XP SP3 & Firefox 3.6.24 or IE 8 It seems to happen more in the morning but randomly during the day it occurs at all sorts of times There are five wireless users at max, two most of the day and the others later if used at all Wireless icon shows good connection = 54mbps Signal Strength = Excellent I have used an internet speed checker today which reports my ISP (Sky) is the best in the area (max is supposed to be 20mb) Download speed 7.7mb / local average = 10.5 (which includes mostly those in the town) Upload speed .4mb / local average = .6mb Same check 7 days ago Download speed 7.mb / local average = 10.6 (which includes mostly those in the town) Upload speed .6mb / local average = .6mb A second speed checker today gave Download Speed 6488kbps Upload Speed 463 kbps 2nd test Download Speed 7544kbps Upload Speed 533 kbps ============= Symptoms are trying to open a Firefox browser window (google home page) and get the report server not found Trying Internet Explorer I get the same problem, repeated "try again" in both browsers eventually gets a connection With either browser open and trying to connect to a variety of sites gets the same error message My wife using a new laptop also gets the same so its not my PC ============= Just this minute tried to open a window in both FF & IE and got the error FF reports = Firefox can't find the server at en-gb.start2.mozilla.com. And from another open window = Firefox can't find the server at www.google.com. Can anyone suggest any ways to diagnose the problem please as its driving me round the twist Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)
