Hi Nivard Thank you very much for the information below. I have been able for the first time in three days to download an image. I did it on Firefox and will now check it out with IE. It's a lot different but faster. Thanks, again Joe ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nivard Ovington" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, November 13, 2011 11:36 AM Subject: Re: [COMPUTERS] New viewer on Ancestry > Hi Joe > > Its already available > > I have been using it > > Like you found, for a couple of days its been playing up, not loading > immediately, needed several > refreshes on occasion > > Bring up any image in Ancestry, look for "Options" > > Then select Use the Advanced Viewer Beta > > It seems to work quite well > > > Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > > > >> Hi Nivard. Every time there was a little change in my system, the old image viewer stopped functioning and they told me to download it, but when there was any fragment of it left it wouldn't install. There were complicated instructions for removing those last fragments. Complicated is the keyword here. Will I have to do jump through all those hoops to install the new image viewer, or is it completely new? Thanks, Lila > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Date: Sun, 13 Nov 2011 12:17:08 -0500 > Subject: Re: [COMPUTERS] New viewer on Ancestry > > Hi Nivard > Thank you very much for the information below. Lila, I use IE V6 and Firefox. I prefer Firefox. I did just as Nivard said. I brought it where the image would normally start and went to options and clicked to use the new Beta Viewer. This was on Firefox. On IE I really hadn't got the new viewer to work. I just use the old basic one. This is better than yesterday as I couldn't download anything using either Explorer. I am sure that Nivard could explain all of this better that me. Hi Lila Well I have had no problem using the new Beta viewer As previously mentioned I had problems downloading images for a few days, on a couple of occasions a page flashed for a split second which I recognised as the "use our enhanced viewer" page (which popped up when using the standard viewer), assuming the enhanced viewer had become corrupted for some reason I checked Options and found the Enhanced Viewer Beta I did not download it, it appears to work without And yes it is completely new Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > > Every time there was a little change in my system, the old image viewer stopped functioning and > they told me to download it, but when there was any fragment of it left it wouldn't install.
