Hi Faye Thanks for your reply That would turn off auto complete for Firefox browsing though The theory is that on google home page there is a little cog top right which when clicked gives search settings for google Scroll down a little and there is a selectable setting :- Google Instant Use Google Instant - predictions and results appear while typing (&) Do not use Google Instant I select Do not use Google Instant and save preferences But still it does it, if I go back into settings, its still selected as I wish but it has no effect Baffling for now Bing here I come Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Nivard, I'm using XP and on Goggle home page, I am able to change it as > follows: Tools>Internet Options>Content>Auto Complete>Settings. > > Hope this helps. > > Faye

    3. Hi Nivard, Just a thought... if you are logged into Google/Gmail... you may try logging out and back in... perhaps some sort of reset is required after you make a setting change ?!?!?
