The line to my computer was broken by snow falling and pushing it off the house. I am now using my daughter's wireless connection. It has no password. I do not intend to use this very long, but it brought up couple of questions. The wireless connection is connected to a box direct from the provider, and is in use by her sons. She uses the direct box only. The question is - - - is her connection secure with just the usual windows firewall & anti-virus. How safe are the computers connected to the wireless? Bea

The problem isn't the computers she owns, but with an unsecured wireless connection, anyone can use HER connection, and it will get traced back TO her. So hacking, piracy, child porn, or anything else someone does will be seen as something she did, and it's darned hard to prove otherwise.
