David, Thanks for your reply, when I purchased the new hard drive a lot of of programmes I had were transferred over by the the computer sales people, but some were left behind, I will have someone with more knowledge than me have a look at it, thought I would pick the lists brains first, as they have been so helpful previously. The programs MUST be reinstalled so they (the programs) will know where the Windows "Protocol's" are at. There are no issues about running 32 bit programs on a 64 bit machine. That said, yes, some of the older 32 bit programs MUST be updated to a newer 32 bit version to run under Windows 7 period.
