In other words, you will need to install a program such as VirtualDub to do this. Alternately, I believe that Windows Movie Maker may do the trick... Regards, Kevin. Hi Margaret, Your Hard Drive is accessible from Windows 7 or Windows XP. Both operating systems access your hard drive in the same way. No need to run any set-up. Regards, Kevin. Hi Kevin, My XP hard drive was installed in my new Windows 7, so I have an E. drive [ XP ] & a C. drive [ W7 ] I can access the XP drive but a lot of the programmes I can't open due to W7 being 64 bits & the XP being 32 bits, also I keep getting a pop up that says my E. drive XP is low on disc space, it seems that what ever I put on W7 it also goes to the XP hard drive. What to do. Regards Margaret. Margaret, By putting the old drive in the new machine, does not allow the programs installed on it work under Windows 7. The programs MUST be reinstalled so they (the programs) will know where the Windows "Protocol's" are at. There are no issues about running 32 bit programs on a 64 bit machine. That said, yes, some of the older 32 bit programs MUST be updated to a newer 32 bit version to run under Windows 7 period. However NONE of the 16 bit programs can even be installed on a 64 bit machine. As for the Error message that the E drive is getting full, because you are resaving some files to it. What I would do, reinstall those programs that you need and can, that were on your old machine. You will need the CD's or the install files that were downloaded to do this. I would also move the "User" files, such as My Documents and My Pictures to your account on the C drive (Windows 7) and any other "Data" to the C drive. Then I would delete old Operation System and program files and folders from the E drive. If you do not understand this, get someone that will work with you in moving and deleing things. As for anyone that would just put a old system drive in a new machine and NOT clean it up, needs to be put out of our misery. Hope this helps.
