I also us XP and I have my updates set to take place at 3 AM, so that I am not caught in the middle of anything unfinished when it needs to reboot. My computer will be turned off at night and XP will turn it on at 3 AM to update reboot and in the morning I will see that Windows has updated my computer as I will need to turn it log on again.
